    Practice Philosophy Practice Philosophy

Our goal is to promote and maintain patient's oral health at the highest possible level.   The practice thus provides comprehensive dental care to all ages.

New Techniques and procedures are being constantly assessed and introduced if they will lead to an increase in the quality of care.   Consideration is also given to cost and benefit compared to existing procedures to enable us to provide the highest care.

Patient's are encouraged to discuss their dental needs and desires in order to provide the best dental care appropriate for each individual.

The practice STRICTLY ADHERES to the most stringent infection control procedures incorporating the use of a scout nurse, single use items (needles, anaesthetics cartridges, gloves, bibs, barrier strips etc), elimination of cuspidors, the use of rubber dams routinely and physical design measures.  All instruments, handpieces, couplings and surgical instruments are autoclaved using the latest digital autoclaves which are calibrated and tested regularly.  All autoclaves have internal sensor printers and undergo weekly spore tests to confirm autoclave success of each cycle.   In 1993 Mercury and heavy metal restoration or fillings were discontinued and replaced with composite resin (white).   Please feel free to ask about out infection control measures and treatment options.

Radiation Protection Radiation Protection

X-rays are kept to the minimum necessary for complete patient care.  Extra attention is paid to children below 16 years.  Low dosage X-ray machines are used, the walls are lead lined as per the specification and design of Queensland and New South Wales health authorities and lead aprons are used to protect patients.
